Jobs

Is the economy roaring back, or is that a whimper?...195,000 jobs were created in June but the deeper you look into the figures, the more you find to worry about. For instance, the underemployment rate – people who have either given up working or taken part-time jobs –rose by half a point in a month, to 13.3 percent. But it could be worse than the government is letting on. A new Gallup poll pegs the underemployment rate at 17.2 percent. And only about a fifth of those 195,000 new jobs are full time. The rest were part time or temp positions. In fact, 101 million Americans now get food aid from the government. That’s more Americans than have full time jobs. The second-largest employer in America, right behind Wal-Mart, is now the Kelly temp agency. It’s no wonder President Obama wants to delay Obamacare until after the next election. It’s helping to turn us into a nation of part timers and temp workers. If voters realize that, politicians’ jobs may become temporary, too.
