It's hump day and the weekend is already calling my name.   Not sure how I'm going to last much longer at the day job but i have to stick it out a little while longer.  There is just too much I want to do each day and I'm restrained by the day job.

There are a lot of Jeep events coming up, everything from Christmas parades to wheeling events at the off road park.  We even have a wrenching party coming up in January at a shop in Topeka.  That should be fun as we all help each other install parts, etc.  We will put a lift on my friends Jeep while there. 

Here is a shot I took the other day of an older model we had at the studio.  I really like the shallow depth of field from shooting wide open.  I'm looking forward to doing more shoots with more mature women. 

My new camera gear has arrived and I am ready to try some new things this winter.  I'm going to be doing a lot more creative shoots as well as fashion/beauty/glamour type shoots.  There are some opportunities here in KC to do some commercial work and I may try to get some of that as I head into my retirement phase.

I heard from my nephew. Stephen, who will be in town on Wednesday and we are going to have dinner with him at our favorite Italian joint.  We haven't seen him in some time.  Apparently he is in town on business so we are happy he contacted us and we look forward to seeing him.

Jodi is busy getting the house decorated for Christmas.  We are putting our tree in the living room this year versus the loft.  We are having to move some furniture out to do so but it will look much better next to the fireplace, plus, we rarely go upstairs any more.

 

Four days flew by and it's time to start another week of work.  At least we are approaching the end of the year and I can expect some extra time off at the Christmas break.  I'm really ready to retire as I just don't like the daily work routine any longer.  It used to be that I didn't mind getting up every day and going in but that has all changed and I'm just done.  I'll just have to keep slogging along for a little while longer.

Our weekend was spent doing a little shopping, working and we did manage to have some fun as we went to the Casino Saturday night with some Jeeple.  I wound up winning $150 at the Blackjack table while the others didn't fare so well.  We wound up leaving around 11:30, went to Waffle House for a late night meal and I think we actually went to bed around 1:30am.  That's the latest night we have had in some time.

We had an opportunity to go wheeling at Tuttle the next day but the group wasn't planning on doing any serious rock crawling so I opted out.  I just don't get excited about driving a trail all day, especially if there is no scenery to look at. 

All of our photo shoots are completed for the year and we have about 4 sales sessions to get in before we take the winter off.  Jodi's mom, sister and aunt are coming in this weekend for their annual Christmas shopping trip in KC so we will have a full house.   

The only Black Friday deals I have taken advantage of are photography related.  Tempted to buy a few things but have decided to hold off until next year.  I think my rig is in pretty good shape for awhile. Jodi still needs a winch but I think she is going to wind up with mine.

I am looking forward to the 4 day weekend ahead.  I have a photo shoot scheduled for Friday, but other than that, I have the rest of the time to myself.  I have some new software that I would like to start learning that will enhance our marketing videos. 

We have 4 ordering sessions this week, starting with one this evening, so we are hopeful for a very profitable week.  Sales this Fall have been well above expectations and it tells us that people really value what we do and offer. 

JD, Jayson and Megan are coming over Wednesday for Thanksgiving dinner with us.  Jodi will be preparing her first turkey so this could be interesting.  :)
