My wheels were in Oklahoma yesterday so I'm hoping they make it to Kansas today, or better yet, they made it this morning and are out for delivery.  That won't be my luck but it would be great if they were delivered Wednesday morning so they can be installed and then my Jeep flexed out to make sure I don't have any significant clearance issues.  Jodi is only wondering if it will still fit in the garage.  :) 

I'm sending my supercharger in to Vortech to have it opened up and checked out before I install it.  They will freshen it up with new bearings and seals for $400 and since I got it for a steal, I can make that small investment pretty easily.  I am hoping to get it installed next month.  

My wheels finally shipped!  They are to arrive on Thursday but we are hoping for a day earlier.  Either way, I'm getting my Jeep late Thursday night and I cannot wait.  We will head to Kansas Rocks on Saturday for a fun filled day of off roading.

Jodi and I hosted about 14 people at our house Saturday night.  We had food, drinks and great conversation.  Everyone loved Jodi's new kitchen too.  I really need to get some good pics of the changes we made to share.

Sunday we spent the morning working on some workshop followup we had promised the attendees.  Jodi created some editing tutorials and we got them posted online.  In the afternoon, we had our monthly Jeep meetup with the Northland group and we hung out with friends for nearly 4 hours. 

We have a busy week ahead with photo shoots every day this week.   We only have two shoots next week and then we get to take a break until June when the madness starts all over again.

We are just waiting on my wheels to arrive to finish up my Jeep.  It is obviously taking much longer than the one week production time Raceline told me it would take.  As a business owner, the last thing you want to do is not fulfill what you tell a client.  I ALWAYS under promise and over deliver, meaning that if I tell the clients two weeks to get their order, they will have it in 10 days or less.  To tell them something and not meet what I said I would do is an epic failure.  We don't let that happen.

We've had to reschedule a couple photo shoots this week due to high winds.  Windy conditions do not bode well for long hair on the ladies so to ensure they get perfect images, we just don't shoot when the conditions won't allow for that.  It creates a busier schedule for us the following week but we do what we have to do.  It is much cooler here today but the sun will be out and I hope that the wind dies down to get today's session in.  The temps and weather look pretty good for next week. 

I one week from today, the new owners of Jodi's Jeep will be flying in to spend the weekend with us and will be taking it home on Sunday.  We are taking them to Kansas Rocks for an off road adventure while they are here. 
JD and Megan close on their house on the 22nd and will be moving in later that week.  We will be helping them move on Friday before we head to SMORR on Saturday with friends.  Really hoping for dry conditions down there.  Larry's Hill will be conquered this time.   

Last night I got the first of four photo shoots this week completed and then met up with Jodi at a local establishment to hang out with our Jeep friends and watch one of them perform.  I got to talk to a lot of people about upcoming offroading plans and we invited quite a few over for a social gathering at our house this weekend.  Jodi will get to show off her new kitchen to the ladies. 

I'm hoping to get my Jeep back mid-next week at the latest.  I'd like to get it cleaned up before we go wheeling at Kansas Rocks with the new owner of Jodi's Jeep.  He's not taking her Jeep but he and his wife will be riding along with us so we can show them what we do for fun. 

Here is the new license plate I ordered for Nemesis.  It's been on order for a week or so and I hope to get it in the next month. 

Jodi and I had a fun weekend as we hosted our first workshop.  Nine photographers from Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma and Nebraska came to get their learn on and we overloaded them with info on how to be THE senior portrait studio in their market. 

When they arrived to our studio on Friday evening, we quickly got to know each other before jumping into content about marketing.  We wrapped at 10:30pm with a plan to convene at 9am for a full day of learning the next day.

I got up at 6am after little sleep and set our studio up, got us some breakfast and was ready to start the day.  Our makeup artist came mid-morning and got three models looking awesome for us for a photo shoot later in the afternoon.  We spent some time learning off camera flash in studio and then boarded an executive coach I had rented and headed into the city for some fun shooting.  We wrapped at 8pm and then a few photographers joined Jodi and I for dinner while the others went to their hotel wiped out. 

Sunday morning was a full day of Jodi and I teaching what we do.  I was especially proud of Jodi watching her teach her editing to the photographers in attendance.  She doesn't have much speaking experience to groups like I do and she nailed it.  We wrapped at 4pm and everyone seemed to be very pleased with the experience.  Maybe we will do another late this year or next Spring. 

I hope to get my Jeep back by this coming weekend.  Still haven't heard when my wheels will arrive. 

Cage installation began yesterday!  It's been a long time coming but the end is getting closer.  The longer it sits out there, the more I keep doing to it.  Maybe that is a great tactic for a business?  :)  The final result is going to be pretty awesome I think as the changes in my ride are going to be significant.  Not only is the sport cage going in but the front axle now has an Artec truss, the gas tank has a skid plate so I don't damage another fuel pump.  With the new 40's, I would benefit by going to a 3.75" backspacing so new beadlocks are en route too.  I didn't really want the maintenance of them but it's pretty much a need when rolling on 40's.  I have custom powder coated Raceline Monsters on the way and my shop had a set of rings already in stock so they went to the local powder coater for colortreatment.  With the bigger tires and Jodi already struggling to get in and out, I decided to get a set of Rockslide Engineering step sliders which have a step that automatically drops down 12" out of the slider when the door opens.  I may get the slider skids at a later date.  With two wheeling trips this month, I'm looking forward to getting it back and putting it to the test.  

Our workshop at our studio begins tomorrow evening and will run until late afternoon on Sunday.  I'm excited to help others build a successful business like ours and it will be fun to get to know them on a more personal level and make some new friends.  We have three models that we will be photographing and i have rented an executive coach to transport us around KC on our scheduled shoot day.  I hope they enjoy the experience.    

April has arrived and we have a busy month ahead.  A photo shoot and several pre-session consultations are scheduled this week ahead of our workshop this weekend.   We have some very long days ahead but we always make it through them.  

Our tiles back splash gets grouted today and that will complete the kitchen renovation project with the exception of painting the walls.  We were waiting to get it done to see what we thought of the current color and we have decided to change it.  It won't get done right away with our schedule but next month we should have the time to do so.

I'm still waiting to hear that my cage has been powder coated.  We have 26 days until our wheeling trip and much needs to get done on my Jeep.  I'm thinking about new sliders too.  It never ends.
