DIALOG BETWEEN LIBERAL INTERVIEWER AND GUN ENTHUSIAST

Interviewer: Do you shoot often?

Man: Yes.

Interviewer: How much do you shoot at the target range?

Man: Around 3 boxes of ammo give or take.

Interviewer: How much does a box cost?

Man: Roughly $30.00 at a sporting goods store

Interviewer: And how long have you been target shooting?

Man: 35 years.

Interviewer: You are shooting about four times a month at a cost of about $150.00, so that's $600 each month and you're spending about $7,200 per year, right?

Man: Correct.

Interviewer: If in 1 year you spend $7,200 on ammo, not accounting for inflation, 35 years puts your spending roughly $252,000; correct?

Man: Correct.

Interviewer: Did it ever occur to you that if you never shot guns for the past 35 years you'd have enough money for a brand new Ferrari?

Man: Do you shoot?

Interviewer: No.

Man: So, where's your Freakin' Ferrari?

Since returning from vacation, we have been very busy with business related work.  Last night, we had a great session with one of our Class of 2014 Senior Spokesmodels.  We're excited to go through all of the images this evening.  She had picked out some really great outfits and she was very natural in front of the camera.  Jodi has a lot of photo work to get through this weekend while I move JD home from college.


 

We drove back to Scottsdale Yesterday and then went to dinner with our hosts. We will spend the next two days relaxing poolside and doing some sight seeing and shopping here in Scottsdale. 

On our drive back yesterday, I got to meet a California Highway Patrolman personally. His laser got me doing 85 in a 70. I had to document my CHiPs encounter. 

We also got to experience a Border Patrol checkpoint. That was a highlight of the drive back and we got to see a vehicle search in progress.

San Diego

We went to Coranado Island yesterday and played on the beach. We also visited the amazing Hotel Del Coranado. Afterward, we took a two hour bay cruise followed by dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. We then went to Petco Park for a Padres game. A season ticket holder out front sold us his $82 a seat tickets for $20 each so we sat 16 rows off the field. Lots of photos follow.

As I write this, I'm looking out over San Diego Bay from the 18th floor of our hotel. A 280 feet long, $100 million luxury yacht is moored nearby and two huge cruise ships have arrived this morning. We are really enjoying our trip so far. I haven't had easy access to a computer or a WIFI connection but I figured I better get something up on the blog so I'm typing this all out on my phone. Today is the day!  We're packed and ready for a much needed getaway.  From snow covered lawns to palm tree lined beaches and streets, it's going to be an awesome trip.  I'll be posting pictures here on the blog so friends and family can see what we're up to and some of the scenery we're taking in.

In about 36 hours, we'll be sitting pool side in 90+ degree weather.  Temps will be pretty warm in Phoenix/Scottsdale but it's a dry heat (wink wink).  It'll be quite a change from our 36 degree high here today.  I'm looking forward to visiting Sedona on Sunday and then driving to San Diego the next day.  The forecast calls for highs in the mid 60's in San Diego and that's perfect for me. 

The week after our return we have a couple clients scheduled for their portrait session and we'll be preparing our marketing campaign for the summer.  We'll be sending out over 1000 6x9 cards and I'm curious as to what the response rate will be.  My hope is that we get 2% of them to use our services this year. 

I'll also be traveling to St. Louis to move JD home the following weekend.  He has finished up his classes and now has about 10 games remaining in the season.  They won't be making their conference tournament so the season comes to an end after the last regular scheduled game.  It appears much of the pitching staff is having arm problems and I believe it is from entirely too much throwing.  JD will be taking the entire summer off from throwing and just work out at the gym regularly.
