It was another hot ball game last night as the Blues continued their quest for the post season championship.  Playing with the league title in hand and a first round victory in the post season already, JD took the hill for the Blues last night and went 5 1/3 innings, surrendering an earned run on only one hit.  Unfortunately, our relief was not very good and at the end of the 6th inning, we were down 4-0.  The offense had been pretty anemic up to that point, but they found a spark and plated two runs int he home half of the 6th to cut the lead in half. 

In the bottom of the 7th, the Blues tied that game and had the winning run at third base with one out.  A deep fly ball to left was caught and the runner at third raced for home, only to be nailed at the plate by a perfect throw from the outfielder.  Neither team would score in the 8th inning but in the bottom of the 9th, the Blues, with a man on first and third and two out, received a huge hit to right center to win the game in walk off fashion for the second night in a row.

We'll be back at the park tonight for an 8:30pm game against the last remaining undefeated team in the playoffs.  A victory tonight would give the Blues a bye on Friday and put them in the championship round on Saturday.  We're looking pretty good as we have two starters who have not thrown yet in the playoffs.
