It was quite a profitable weekend as I worked 8 hours overtime on Saturday and then we had another record setting sale Sunday afternoon.  That was followed by a 4H group visiting our studio in the evening and I taught them photography basics and how to create photos without their camera in automatic mode.  I also showed them how to use studio lighting. 

JD is home for a total of 9 days.  His first semester will be over soon and I am proud to say he currently is carrying a 3.8 GPA this semester.  He is also working every day he is home except Thursday.  His arm seems to be doing well and we're hopeful that this year is a far better one than last.  The season starts in less than two months!

Fair Warning:  This week's Photo Friday is going to be HUGE!

Jodi and I set another record for total sale again last night and they still haven't ordered their wall portraits yet!  They wanted to get dad's input on those since he was unable to attend. 

I stopped in at Cabela's on Saturday and picked up one of the new Magpul 40 round magazines for my AR-15.  Upon returning home, I promptly loaded it with 5.56 ammo.  This will make it all the more fun when I add the Slidefire stock to my AR, making it virtually full auto.  If you haven't seen the Slidefire in action, here's a sample:

While at Cabela's, I looked at a couple new handguns, the FNX-45 and the M&P 45.  I'd like to own one of each but I really need a rifle more than another handgun at this point.  I think the Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308 is the more likely candidate as the Savage BA110 in .338 Lapua is kinda pricey, especially after adding quality glass to it.  It sure is a beast though.

Tomorrow is a holiday for me.  Apparently deer season is more important than Veteran's Day so we get our holiday the Friday before opening day so there aren't a lot of AWOL's and production can run.  Jodi is off work too and we have plenty to do tomorrow.  So, since I can't guarantee that I'll be able to post Photo Friday tomorrow, I'm providing it a day early.  Enjoy!

Another weekend has flown by but it was quite a good one.  We really enjoyed taking Jayson to St. Louis to meet my mom for the first time and we are thankful that all of my siblings were able to stop by and meet him as well.  We also went to Jodi's sister's house and spent some time with her family as well.  Jayson did really well all day and although he was tired and tuckered out, he was very happy and we couldn't have asked for a better trip with him.  Here's a photo from the trip.  He was happy to go for a ride.  Click on pic for larger image.

We spent Sunday morning doing some things around the house and Jodi worked on editing some past sessions and designing an album for one of our clients.   In the afternoon, we met a client for a photo shoot at a local park and then we came back to the studio to do some shots with his electric guitar.  I wanted to do something creative so we took some grungy style shots that I hope we can create some really cool "Rock Star" type images.  We even had him do some Eddie Van Halen type jumps while holding his guitar and they looked great on the back of the camera.

No shoots scheduled this week as I think out outdoor sessions for the year have reached the end.  That is welcome news for Jodi as she has quite a few sessions to edit and even more View & Choose sessions to get scheduled.  We'll be offering studio session over the winter and I'll be working on more marketing stuff.  We've already lined up a few models for next years model program and we'll be taking applications for another month or so.

Our last 5 sales sessions have been amazing.  Our sales averages are through the roof and we could not be happier.  I attribute the increases to a recent change we made to our pricing structure.  As we go into our off season, I intend to tweak our system a bit more for next year in an effort to further up our averages.  We have a few more sales sessions in the next week or so and I hope the current trend continues.

I have so much I want to do this winter to further enhance the experience and service we offer.  I want to really separate us from what others are doing and make our company the "Go To" in our area. Based on feedback from our clients, we are doing just that. 

29 days order to delivery but it is finally here.  My new Crossbreed Supertuck, shown cradling my Glock 19.  I think I'll be ordering one for my 1911 as well.

We have a busy weekend planned with friends coming into town tonight and staying through Sunday morning.  JD is also coming home for the weekend and we also have a photo shoot on Sunday afternoon.
