Our makeup/dressing room project has been on hold for awhile now after getting $3000-$3500 bids for the cabinetry I want built.  I think I could do it myself for around $1000-$1200 in material cost but I know it will take me some time and probably part of my sanity as well as my projects rarely go as planned.  Not owning a table saw will be an issue as well as I need to rip plywood in half and I don't think I want to use a circular saw.  Building 16 feet of cabinetry with trim and crown is a little daunting but I have all winter and it will be quite an accomplishment for me to complete as I've never done something like this before. 

Lots of rain here last night and today has several sessions this weekend in jeopardy.  If rained out, our difficulty will be getting them rescheduled with little time available in our schedule and not much time remaining in the fall, outdoor season.  Especially troubling is my niece's session scheduled for tomorrow.  Hopefully the skies will dry out long enough to get our sessions in.

Well, you can probably guess that I'm rooting for a Royals/Cardinals World Series.  The Cardinals will always be #1 to me and should the Series match up that I want happen, I will definitely be rooting for the Cardinals.  The Royals are an exciting team to watch and have been getting it done with good, fundamental baseball, utilizing speed, defense and good pitching to dispatch more powerful and well funded teams.  It's shaping up to be a great October of baseball in Missouri.

I quit smoking 7 1/2 years ago.  I used to get sinus infections and bronchitis at least a couple times a year.  I don't recall being sick at all in the last 7 years.  It's been an amazing run but it came to an end this weekend when I got a head cold.  Luckily, I was feeling better yesterday as we had a senior portrait session to complete, and we have another today, Wednesday, Friday, two Saturday and another two on Sunday.  It's going to be pretty crazy this week and the balance of the month.

We had a senior portrait session scheduled yesterday and it rained most of the morning.  By the afternoon, the sky had cleared and the sun was out with some clouds still around.  The client was over a half hour late so we shortened the studio portion of his session and headed downtown to do some shots in the grungy West Bottoms prior to heading to his high school for some track photos.

As we wrapped up downtown, the downpour came as we drove to his school which was about 20 minutes away.  It rained the entire trip and let up as we arrived.  With sprinkles still falling, we got the gear to the track.  It was wet but there was enough breaks in the sky for me to see that we'd probably get to do some shooting.  I set up all my studio lights and we started shooting.  I shoot low and up a lot so it was only natural to do so, no matter the conditions.  This is how I looked when finished.  My back side was just as soaked.  All in a days work to get that amazing shot.
